My original plan was to only release one newsletter at the beginning of each month, and with around 6 news. This one will be an exception, and for good reasons: lots of new creative work coming up. I will make it short: 3 news! As always, you can see the previous newsletters backed up here. And feel free to share this with anyone who might be interested in signing up.
CREATIVE WORK
NPHz concerts in New York
The NpHz electroacoustic duo, with me and Scott, will have a short sequence of performances in New York this month! On the 21st at 1pm we will be performing at the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival. You can now find the program here, and get tickets on this page (and it may also be streamed?). On the 22nd we will have a shared concert at the Record Shop in Brooklyn. And on the 23rd, we will be back to NYC for a private event at IBM. We will be performing music from /Equations of Coltrane which you can still get on bandcamp.
The Algorithm of Epilepsy
I'm working on music for a new theatre play called "The Algorithm of Epilepsy". This is an original production by the theatre company Marionet that focuses on creating new plays that are informed by, and in dialogue with, scientific research. For this play there is a partnership with Mauro Pinto, a researcher developing machine learning algorithms for predicting epilepsy (you can actually see some sample code here, and I will soon release a near realtime version for the web). This play will bepremiered on the 28th at Teatro da Cerca de São Bernardo, in Coimbra, Portugal. You can read more about it here.
Upcoming: Jupiter meets Saturn
There is an exciting upcoming album on music and painting, featuring me and STArt. It is called Jupiter meets Saturn, and it includes saxophone, electronics, tuning forks, paintbrushes, leaves, cymatics, guided meditation, and celestial objects. It will be released on July 4th online on bandcamp, and later in other places. If you would like to be notified immediately after its release, make sure you are subscribed to bandcamp, besides this newsletter of course :)

Hope to see you soon, whether online, in Coimbra, or in NY,
